DESCRIPTION DE LA COMPAGNIE :

Fondée à Vancouver en 2007 par Maggie Winston, la compagnie Lost & Found Puppet Co. est basée à Montréal depuis janvier 2016. Elle a participé à divers festivals tels que OUF! Festival Off Casteliers (Montréal), Vancouver Fringe Festival, Out The Box Puppetry Festival (Le Cap, Afrique du Sud). Lost & Found Puppet Co. explore la relation entre les humains, les objets, les plantes et les animaux.

Lost & Found Puppet Co. originally created in 2007, now splits time between Montreal, QC and Vancouver, BC. Members of the company consist of Maggie Winston and any person interested in joining the company for any given project. Interdisciplinary collaboration and community activism are at the heart of the work. L&FP Co. is dedicated to the promotion of puppetry as a unique and valued art everyone can experience.

L&FP Co. has toured throughout in Canada, USA and internationally. Productions usually incorporate several types of puppetry, clowning, and other media. Themes such as family, cultural history, human relationships to objects, nature, and spirituality are the inspirations for performances. There are stories about lost socks, giant junk monsters, larger-than-life invasive plant species, beaver dreams, and grandma’s memories in her recycled quilt.

Maggie Winston is a puppeteer and community engaged artist who facilitates transformative creative processes with an emphasis on inclusion and imagination. Originally from Baltimore, MD, USA, Maggie graduated from Carver Centre for Arts and Technology (MD, USA), she received a BA in Performance/Puppetry at Sarah Lawrence College (NY, USA), and trained at British American Drama Academy (London, UK).
